Fighting For Hip-hop Artist Struggling With Depression -The Samurai Way

12/31/2019

One day you have money and the next day it's gone. This could have been an appropriate title for this article. We are living in the days of the one-hit-wonder and musicians are feeling the negative effects in the form of depression.

Imagine being able to spend money whenever you like on whatever you like, or to be able to support your entire family from your creative work. After months of touring, receiving awards, and other accolades you find yourself broke and unable to pay even the smallest bills that were once of no concern. This in itself can mark the beginning of a downward spiral for an aspiring artist. From drug addiction to crazy relationships, shady friends, messy breakups, alcohol abuse, and erratic behaviors musicians are buckling under the beam of the bright lights in uncanny numbers. Depression sets in and we see our favorite artist on the front page struggling to keep things together.

Take Atlanta rapper Juaquin Malphurs or "Waka Flocka Flame" as you might know him.
